After acknowledging the astounding advantages of digital aspect in the education system, the Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG) in the recent times has decided to launch a two-in-one mobile-based interactive platform. It is speculated that the interactive platform was especially designed to regularly interact with the stake holders and the students besides sharing queries and answering to various queries.
The programme will be first launched by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) as a pilot project across 10 government schools in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad villages in the mid of this January.

Two-way online interactions to pave the way forward
As of now, BISAG provide a one-way (audio-based) education channels as many as 13 where audience can only call by dialing a toll-free numbers after the session is over.
However, with BISAG introducing the newly designed platform, it is anticipated that all these adversities will be mitigated.
“With this, BISAG wants to take education e-content a step ahead from one-way to two-way visual interactive platform. All the technical detailing has been completed along with experiments to assess its feasibility. Various options of the platform, including WhatsApp, Skype, VSL and others, have been offered to SSA,” said BISAG Director T P Singh, as reported in The Indian Express.
Salient feature of the programmes comprises of audio-visual interactive medium, e-content lessons, and interactive boards.
Moreover, the education department has also urged the CSR to provide the teachers with tablets.
Realising the optimum advantage of IT and social media, the existing 13 educational channels are already aired on YouTube on Wednesday.
“To begin with, some of the Class 5 lessons have been uploaded on the video-sharing website. This will be followed by more content in the coming days. From taking lessons from classrooms to homes, now students can watch these anytime of the day and not restricted to the BISAG schedule,” said SSA state project director Mahesh Singh.
