A new Xiaomi smartphone dubbed Jason has been spotted in benchmarks tipping that another device might be on the cards. The rumoured Xiaomi Jason has been spotted on GFXBench benchmark, and is believed to be a variant of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6, called the Mi 6c.
The Chinese company has in the past launched different variants of its flagship smartphone in various markets. Some of the previous flagship variants include Xiaomi Mi 4c and Xiaomi Mi 5c among others.
One of the biggest highlights of the new alleged Xiaomi Jason aka Mi 6c is said to be the all-new Snapdragon 660 processor and the smartphone could very well be among the first few devices sporting the new chipset. Announced earlier this month, the all-new Snapdragon 660 mobile platform is based on a 14nm FinFET process and provides 4K video capture and playback capabilities, along with 8GB maximum memory and Vulkan API support. Additionally, the Snapdragon 660 mobile platform supports displays up to QHD (2K) resolution, whereas the 630 supports FHD/QXGA (1080p).
According to the leaked benchmark, the alleged Xiaomi Jason aka Xiaomi Mi 6c will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with 6GB RAM and will pack 64GB on-board storage. The smartphone can be seen featuring a 5.1-inch full-HD display and run MIUI based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. On the camera front, the alleged Jason device is said to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera alongside a 4-megapixel front camera. It’s worth pointing out that the alleged Xiaomi Jason could very well launch with a different name. The GFXBench listing was first spotted by GizmoChina.
Xiaomi is yet to announce a launch date for its flagship Mi 6 in India though if the company’s India chief Manu Kumar Jain is believed then it may be announced in July. We, however, have to wait for an official confirmation on the launch of Mi 6 from Xiaomi.
