Reliance announced the launch of its budget feature 4G phone at an incredibly low price of Rs 1500 and took the world by surprise. The JioPhone aims at making 4G speed internet available to the lower class of people who are still devoid of the benefits of the web because of the cost factor. Priced at Rs 1500, the Reliance 4G feature phone is said to be the cheapest 4G phone in the country. However, while the JioPhone faces tough competition from various budget 4G Phones that have been launched by Micromax, Lyf, and other brands.
The Reliance JioPhone is being marketed as an effectively free phone, as the token price of Rs 1500 will be refunded after three years if the phone is returned to the company. The phone users can avail the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan at Rs 153 which offers unlimited data; free voice calls as well as SMSes. The JioPhone is a feature mobile with an alpha numeric keypad, 2.4-inch display and pre installed Jio Apps. The phone is targeted at the rural market who have been devoid of using the Jio data plans as they could not afford a smart phone. The company claimed that 40% of its revenue came from the sale of Micromax Bharat 2 and the company has already sold more than half a million pieces of the 4G smartphone by Micromax.

The company has also launched the iVoomi Me 5 budget 4G smartphone at Rs 4499, and the smartphones have been highly anticipated by fans. The iVoomi Me 4 phone comes with 4.5-inch FWVGA screen and the dual sim phone comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera, with LED flash support, and a 5-megapixel shooter at the front as well.
Swipe Elite Star
The Swipe Elite Star is a 4G support smartphone that is priced at a cheap rate of Rs 3333. The phone runs on android Marshmallow on a 1GB RAM and has an inbuilt memory of 8GB. Xolo Era 2 is a 4G smartphone priced at Rs Rs 4555 and is a budget smartphone with a 32-bit processor. Running on Android Marshmallow 6, the 5-inch touchscreen phone comes with an internal storage of 8GB and a primary camera of 5MP. The phone also has a front camera of 5MP for selfies and has both front and rear flash and has a slot for expanding the memory of the phone. With 1GB RAM and quad core processor, the phone is currently on sale on Flipkart.
Intex Aqua Zenith
Intex Aqua Zenith is a 5-inch 4G VoLTE smartphone which is priced at Rs 3,999. The latest Intext budget smartphone was recently launched and runs on Android Nougat 7 and is available for sale on various e-commerce websites. With a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6737M processor, the Intex Aqua Zenith has a 1GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone also has a 5MP rear cam along with a 2 MP front camera for selfies.
These smartphones have been attracting a lot of attention and are becoming immensely popular. While the JioPhone looks like a feature phone with 4G speed, the pricing and specifications of the phone are making it a huge hit. The Reliance JioPhone will begin sale on August 24th and the company plans to begin beta testing for the JioPhone on August 15, 2017.
