With the incessant rise of cases pertaining to cyber bully and crime, Google India in the recent times held a workshop for students on internet safety and security.
The workshop was proportionately banked upon four segments namely – avoiding online scams, social media safety, managing digital footprint and identification of safe online content.
“Google is conducting multiple ‘cyber safety’ workshops for students in different schools across the country. Using the knowledge and skills they’ve learned from the workshop, they’ll be tasked to create and run their own online safety campaigns, encouraging young people in their schools and communities to consider issues such as the effects of cyber bullying, managing one’s own digital footprint and online tricks and scams. These youth-created online or offline educational campaigns can take any form, including online videos and other social media content, sketches and in-school events,” said Sunita Mohanty, Director Trust and Safety, Google India, as reported in DNA.
