Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime is expected to debut in India next week. The South Korean company on Friday sent out media invites for an event scheduled for January 17 in Gurugram where it is expected to make the official announcement. Meanwhile, the smartphone has already been listed on the Amazon India site with its key features and specifications. Its formal invite states the unveiling of “a smartphone that will transform your shopping experience.” Going by the Amazon listing, the Galaxy On7 Prime will come preloaded with Samsung Pay Mini that will help users make instant payments using UPI and mobile wallets. The shopping-focused handset will also be an Amazon-exclusive offering in the country.
As per the listing on Amazon, which was spotted earlier this week, the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor. The smartphone sports 13-megapixel rear and front camera sensors with an f/1.9 aperture lens and an LED flash. Also, the online listing confirms that Samsung will offer two variants of the Galaxy On7 Prime – one with 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage and the other one with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Both variants will microSD card support (up to 256GB).
Further, the images available on the Amazon India site confirms that the Galaxy On7 Prime will come with a hardware Home button, below the display panel, alongside featuring capacitive buttons.
Ahead of its launch in India, the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime has been listed on the Samsung UAE site. This development confirms all the remaining key specifications of the upcoming Galaxy series smartphone. As per its presence on the UAE site, the Galaxy On7 Prime has a 3300mAh battery, LCD panel, and dual-SIM functionality. It has connectivity options such as 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, ANT+, Micro-USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Furthermore, the official listing also highlights two colour options, Black and Gold.
There might be some changes in the Indian version of the Galaxy On7 Prime over the one that has been listed in the UAE as the latter comes with an 8-megapixel selfie camera, while the former is featured on the Amazon India site with a larger, 13-megapixel front-facing camera sensor. We need to wait for the formal launch to understand the changes alongside the prices of the Galaxy On7 Prime variants in India.
