Chinese smartphone giant Oppo unveiled a new mid-range smartphone, Oppo A3, for its customers in China. Oppo Electronics Corporation is an electronics manufacturer based out of Guangdong, China. It is famous for its smartphones but also for manufacturing other electronic items such as, MP3 players and portable media players. The phone was launched in China in late April 2018. This is an Android mid-range phone from Oppo featuring an IPhone X like notch. The smartphone is available in four colors, namely, Knight Black (Black), Soybean Meal (Pink), Blue Stardust Silver (Silver) and Pomegranate (Red).
The only drawback of this phone is probably the single rear camera. Almost all smartphones available now have a dual-camera design, yet the Oppo A3 lacks this particular feature. The Oppo A3 is expected to hit the markets in May 2018. The phone has ultra-thin bezels and cutout (notch) on display for camera and speaker.
The display of the Oppo A3 smartphone is a 6.2-inch LCD panel with 19:9 ratio and Full HD+ resolution for amazing display quality. The phone also features ‘nano-scale microcrystalline’ technology to provide a diamond effect in color patterns on the screen. Just like every Oppo phone, this too comes with Artificial Intelligence-based beautification mode and scene recognition features. The phone also features a 128-point face recognition technology said to unlock the phone in as little as 0.08 seconds.
Oppo A3 is powered by MediaTek’s octa-core CPU at 2.0 GHz and a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU paired on the latest Helio P60 chipset for superior performance and lag-free gaming. The phone runs on 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage for worry-free data accumulation. As for data freaks, this phone also provides an option of expanding the memory by up to 256 GB via a Micro SD card. The rear camera has a 16 MP sensor, and the front camera is coupled with a 8 MP sensor and a basic f/2.2 lens. The phone runs on Android Oreo 8.1, latest in the market. Unfortunately, the phone comes with the dated Micro-USB connector.
Talking about the juice, the Oppo A3 packs a 3400 mAh battery for an uninterrupted experience. The phone weighs 159 grams with dimensions of 156 mm X 75.3 mm X 7.8 mm, which is pretty decent.
As of now it has been launched only in China with a price tag of 1999 Yuan, or approximately Rs 21,020. However, there is no word on the India launch date as of now. Finally, the phone retains the fast-disappearing 3.5-mm jack for audio output.
